PUAFER005 (Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation) is a comprehensive course created to train Fire Wardens in all the essential skills they will need to perform their duties. It meets Australian Standard AS 3745:2010.
It is a nationally recognised course that covers all the key roles and responsibilities of the Fire Warden & Chief Fire Warden.
Course content:
This course covers the following:
· WH&S requirements
· Chief Warden and Fire Warden’s roles and responsibilities
· Emergencies that could occur
· Co-ordination of emergencies
· Evacuating your premises
· Methods of raising the alarm
· Procedures for specific emergencies
· Pre-planning for emergencies
· Bomb threat response
· Human behaviour
Who should attend the course?
Anyone currently in a Fire Warden role who has not received proper training or whose certificate has expired should train. Anyone considering a Fire Warden role should also attend.
Course pre-requisites
There are no set pre-requisites for this course, however it would be assumed the person would have
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills (in English)
- Basic communications skills required for participation in the workplace
Note: there is some physical activity involved during the course including carrying various pieces of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers that can weigh up to 25kg. So, attendees would need the physical capacity to carry out such activities.
What should you bring to the course?
Results First Aid training provide all the necessary training and assessment materials required throughout the course. We also provide any equipment required to be used during the course, such as a fire extinguisher etc.
Please bring a black or blue pen and wear comfortable, casual clothing that is not too tight fitting to allow you freedom of movement during the course.
How long is the certificate valid?
On successful completion of the course, attendees will be awarded a Statement of Attainment (COA) PUAFER005 which is valid nationally for 24 months.
