Rory Barnes

Rory co-founded Results First Aid Training with his wife Jude in 2012. It seems as though Rory was always destined for the role he finds himself in now at Results First Aid Training.

At the tender age of just 11 years old, Rory became a St John’s Ambulance cadet. He then went on to work with the Australian Red Cross as a volunteer until he was 16 years old.

He then decided to train to become a Registered Nurse, starting so you that when he finished he was the youngest qualified registered nurse in the whole of Australia, at just 19 years of age.

Rory’s nursing career saw him work in Emergency wards in a number of country hospitals over several years. He moved to the US with his wife Jude, where he worked for 5 years with the American Red Cross, attending National and Tri-State conferences, sometimes as a guest speaker.

Rory was in the US when the Haiti earthquake occurred, so he volunteered to assist with the relief effort, shipping supplies to the devasted island for the US Red Cross, via both freight networks and private aircraft.

Today Rory is one of Results First Aid Training’s best, most popular and most well-regarded First Aid trainers.

“Quite simply, I love being able to impart my extensive knowledge of first aid procedures, to a diverse group of people. It is all backed by my deep understanding of the human body learnt through my training and experience as a nurse.

I see it as my role to ensure that I remain engaged with the audience at all times and that I make sure they remain interested in what I am teaching them, understand it and most importantly, retain it, so that they can call upon whenever they need to.

I love the fact that every class I teach has such a wide variety of people from all walks of life, ages, backgrounds, and all in so many different jobs and careers. From train drivers and warehouse managers, to childcare workers and aged care employees, to people who work in an office or even people who just want to learn first aid because they just had a baby or perhaps they lost a loved one to a heart attack and didn’t know what to do.

Whoever you are, wherever you come from, whatever your job or role in life, know that you will be welcome at Results First Aid and we, possibly even I, will train you to the very best of our ability, so you can walk away confident in your own ability that should something happen around you, you will be able to do something about it.”
