Trainer & Assessor
Ben is a First Aid trainer with Results First Aid Training. He has been with the company since 2019. He is qualified in advanced first aid and can advise on occupational first aid too.
Training is something Ben has been involved with for many years. Initially he was a certified personal trainer, a role he relished after receiving a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport. (He doesn’t like us saying he is an elite athlete who nearly made the Olympics, but he did.) He then went on to do extensive training in education and effective learning techniques, over a period of 10 years. He has also completed various courses on communication, so he really knows how to get a message across.
Ben is extremely passionate about having his students achieve a very high level of competence, which he credits with his high-level communication skills and his ability to understand others.
“The thing I love the most about training people in first aid is that the skills I am teaching are so practical and so important for everyone to know. I’m not just training people in some trivial matter these skills can actually save lives.”
Ben believes that the secret behind the success of Results First Aid Training is that he, and the other trainers, all deliver their training with a smile.
“It might be a serious subject,” says Ben. “But that doesn’t mean you should make people sit there for hours watching videos while some wooden presenter drones on and on. You can deliver the training with a sense of humour, make it a little entertaining.
I believe that people learn best through education that is friendly and engaging. If the quality of the content is good and people can interact with the material and the trainer, then you get the best possible outcome.
Ultimately you get a very good result and that’s what we are all about!”
