Provide CPR - HLTAID009. Commonly just called CPR Training. This course is the most fundamental course in First Aid Training, which teaches you all you need to know to be able to perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on someone and so potentially save their life. It also explains how to use what is commonly called a “defib” or “defibrillator” machine (or an Automated External Defibrillator – AED). This course forms the basis of many more advanced First Aid courses and so it is often incorporated into them.
Provide Basic Emergency Life Support - HLTAID010. This is commonly called Basic First Aid Training. You could call this course the entry level course in First Aid training. The course includes the CPR training described above as well as some other fundamental first aid skills.
Provide First Aid Training including CPR - HLTAID011 This course is the most common first aid training course. It is the “next level up” from Basic First Aid training. You will find it covers all the information you learn in a CPR course plus additional, more advanced first aid training for multiple different scenarios. This course has effectively become the “default” first aid training course for the workplace, so if someone has told you that you need “First Aid Training” for your job in Geelong, it is most likely they mean you need to do this course.
Provide First Aid in an Education & Care Setting - HLTAID012. If you’re a teacher, childcare worker, aged care worker, etc, in Geelong then this is the first aid course for you. It is specially tailored to incorporate additional specialist skills needed when looking after kids or the elderly, such as handling allergic reactions etc. It includes all the CPR training and First Aid training you would learn in a standard first aid course.
Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace & Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis - 22556VIC/22578VIC While that looks like a very long title, it is most commonly just call Asthma & Anaphylaxis First Aid. It’s a highly specialised course that explains in detail exactly how you manage and respond to Asthma Risks in the workplace. It also covers how to apply first aid to someone having an Anaphylactic reaction. This course is highly recommended if you work in a kindergarten, school, sports club, etc
