What is the location of your training centre?
Our Truganina training centre is located at 70 Foundation Road, Truganina. We are on the corner of Dohertys Road. It’s a large building with CPR & First Aid Training signs on the upper windows, so you can’t miss it.
We are easily accessible from the M80 Ring Road or the M1 Freeway.
Is lunch provided with your courses?
No we do not provide lunch with your training. There is a café downstairs that sells a wide variety of dishes for lunch or you are most welcome to bring your lunch with you to the training course. We have tables and chairs available for you to sit and eat at.
We do provide tea, coffee and water to drink during the breaks in training, at no extra cost to you.
Can I leave a course early if I have an emergency?
Yes of course if you in the middle of a course and you have some personal emergency you have to attend to, such as a sick child or another family emergency, etc, we will of course do whatever we can to get you completed in your course at the next most suitable time. There would be no extra cost for this.
Is there free parking available for students?
Yes we have a large number of free carparking spaces at our training facility, but it’s all on a “first-come, first-served” basis so try to be early. If you miss out on the parking on-site there is considerable parking on the street on both sides of our building. Just take care NOT to park on the nature strip as you will get booked. Just park alongside the gutter on the side of the road and you will be OK.
Can I get there by public transport?
Public transport is unfortunately fairly limited in our area. If you catch a train to Laverton Station, you can then catch a 400 bus (Sunshine Station) to a stop at 190 Dohertys Road. It is about a 7-minute walk from there. Best to check the PTV website and use their journey planner to work out the best way to get there if you don’t have a car. https://www.ptv.vic.gov.au
I have a young child can I bring them to my training?
Unfortunately we do not have any child-minding facilities on our premises and so we cannot take responsibility for any child under the age of 14. We recommend you get childcare or babysitting organised to look after your child so that you can get your training done without interruption or distraction.
Can I train while I am pregnant?
Technically there is no reason why you cannot train while you pregnant. The only factor you may run into is that you must be able to demonstrate that you can perform CPR on a mannikin on the floor for the required period of time and at the required rate of speed and pressure. If you are very advanced in your pregnancy you may struggle to do this so we recommend you talk to your doctor prior to commencing training if you are very close to giving birth.
If I have a physical disability, can I still partake in the training?
We do everything we can to make sure that our first aid training is as inclusive as possible. If you do have a physical disability we recommend that rather than booking online, you call us first so we can discuss your individual needs and do what we can to accommodate you. (Please realise there are physical requirements to pass the course which are detailed below.)
